Our first stop along Lake Superior was at Blueberry Hill Camping. We tried out our new gas cooker for the first time.
The next day was quite rainy, and we spent it driving the scenic route along Lake Superior. We made a few short stops along the way, including the Aguasabon Falls.

That evening, we saw a black bear next to the street. It was the first time either of us had seen a bear in the wild, so this was very exciting! We decided to sleep at the parking of Ouimet Canyon. The canyon was very impressive and much larger than expected. While preparing to go to bed, we saw a black bear in the distance. We drove closer to take some pictures. The black bear didn’t seem bothered by us at all and even approached the car. It walked to our parking area and looked for leftover food at the picnic tables. We felt safe in the car but decided not to go out to use the toilets that night.

The next morning we were awakened by the bear right next to our car.

We continued driving and went to Sleeping Giant Provincial Park. It was still very early in the morning, and many animals were along the road.

We went on a 3.5-hour hike to the head of the sleeping giant. The last part of the hike was extremely steep and exhausting. But the view was definitely worth it!

We then drove to Thunder Bay and will stay here for two nights in an Airbnb. Next, we will return to the United States to Badlands National Park in South Dakota!
